Overview

What is a sales & distribution management platform?

A sales and distribution management platformruns your entire route-to-market in one connected system — from a field rep's first visit to the distributor invoice and the retailer delivery. Instead of separate apps for orders, field tracking, billing and dispatch, every step shares one live data spine, so head office, distributors and the field team always work off the same numbers.

SalesPort brings a distributor management system (DMS) and sales force automation (SFA) together with billing, payments, milk procurement, schemes and dispatch as 9 connected modules. Start with two or three and switch the rest on as you grow — no re-implementation, the same users and data carry across.

DMS, SFA and billing in one connected system

Most distribution teams run on point tools that don't talk to each other — a field app here, an ordering sheet there, accounting somewhere else. The gaps cost real money: stock that doesn't reconcile, schemes applied by hand, and secondary sales no one can trust. An end-to-end distribution platform closes those gaps because a single order moves cleanly from field capture to distributor stock, GST billing and dispatch with nothing re-keyed.

SalesPort is built for FMCG and dairy distribution at scale. Explore the full product catalogue, the dairy management edition, how it fits FMCG and dairy distribution, the pre-built Tally & SAP integrations, or jump to transparent fixed-AMC pricing.

Frequently asked questions

Platform questions, answered.

What is a sales and distribution management platform?

A sales and distribution management platform is a single connected system that runs the entire route-to-market — primary and secondary sales, field-force tracking (SFA), distributor and retailer ordering, schemes and pricing, billing, payments, and dispatch — instead of stitching together separate tools. SalesPort delivers all of this across 9 modules on one shared data spine, so head office, the field team, distributors, and retailers work off the same live numbers.

What's the difference between a DMS and SFA, and do I need both?

A DMS (Distribution Management System) governs the channel — distributor stock, orders, schemes, claims, and billing. SFA (Salesforce Automation) governs the people in the field — beat plans, GPS visits, attendance, and order capture. Most distribution businesses need both, working together: SalesPort runs DMS and SFA as connected modules so a field order flows straight into distributor stock, billing, and dispatch with no re-keying.

Are the 9 modules sold separately or as a bundle?

Both. Most clients start with 2–3 core modules (typically Distribution, Salesforce Automation, and Billing) and add others as they mature. Modules can be activated independently — you only pay for what you use. Pricing scales by users and modules, not by transaction volume.

Can we start with a few modules now and add more later?

Yes. The platform is designed for phased rollouts. A typical journey: start with Distribution + SFA in Month 1, add Billing + Payments by Month 3, layer in Procurement or HRMS by Month 6. Adding modules later does not require re-implementation — data, users, and configurations carry over automatically.

Which integrations come pre-built?

Tally ERP 9 and Tally Prime (bidirectional invoice and ledger sync), SAP Business One and SAP HANA, Razorpay for payments and UPI, WhatsApp Business for order confirmations, SMS gateways for OTP and notifications, Google Maps for beat plans and dispatch routing, and GST portal for e-invoicing. Custom integrations to other ERPs or accounting systems are available on the Enterprise tier.

Does the field app work offline?

Yes. The salesforce app is offline-first — beat plans, retailer lists, pricing, schemes, and stock are cached locally so the team can capture orders, attendance, and visits in zero-connectivity areas. Data syncs automatically once the device reconnects. Rural FMCG and dairy field teams routinely run full days without continuous connectivity.

Is the platform multi-tenant or single-tenant per client?

Single-tenant. Each client runs on a dedicated MySQL instance with isolated data — your records never share a database with another company. This is important for enterprise procurement, compliance audits, and data residency. Hosting is on AWS in the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region by default.

How is SalesPort different from a generic ERP for distribution?

Generic ERPs (SAP, Oracle, Odoo) are built around accounting and inventory. SalesPort is built around the field — beat plans, GPS tracking, retailer-level pricing, scheme engines, milk procurement at the VLC, and offline mobile capture. We integrate with the ERP for accounting (Tally/SAP), but the platform itself is purpose-built for the operational complexity of Indian distribution.

Which industries is the platform built for?

SalesPort is purpose-built for distribution-led sectors: FMCG, dairy, agri-inputs, spices, beverages, frozen foods, cattle feed, and edible oils. The dairy edition adds milk procurement, fat/SNF-based farmer payments, and cooperative governance; the FMCG edition focuses on secondary sales, schemes, and outlet coverage. The same 9-module core adapts to each industry's route-to-market.

How long does it take to implement the platform?

A typical phased rollout is live in 4–8 weeks: master-data cleanup and configuration in weeks 1–2, a pilot region running in parallel by weeks 3–4, then a staged expansion to remaining beats and distributors. Starting with Distribution + SFA first and layering Billing, Payments, and Procurement later keeps the change manageable — adding modules afterwards reuses the same data, users, and configuration.
