Why a Lucknow-built dairy stack beats a Bangalore SaaS one.

UP runs the largest dairy ecosystem in the country — and dairy operations don't pause for a 5pm Bangalore stand-up. Three things only a local vendor can give you:

On-the-ground deployment

Our delivery engineers reach an MCC or plant in UP, Bihar, Uttarakhand or MP within four to eight hours by road — not the next available flight. Pilot rollouts get hands-on supervision from day one.

Hindi-first farmer + supervisor training

VLC operators and field supervisors get trained in Hindi on their actual mobile app — not via a translated PDF. Daily collection slips, SMS notifications and the milk-payment ledger all run bilingual by default.

North-India operating-hour overlap

Plant intake runs early morning, dispatch by mid-morning, payment runs at end-of-day. Our support hours match those cycles — not a SaaS company's 11am-7pm calendar built around the South.

Frequently asked

Why pick a Lucknow-based dairy software vendor over a Bangalore or Mumbai one?

Three reasons. (1) Field implementation in UP, Bihar, Uttarakhand and MP — our deployment engineers visit the MCC or plant within 4–8 hours, not the next flight. (2) Hindi-first training for procurement managers and field supervisors who don't always work in English. (3) Office-hour support overlap with North India dairy operations, which run on plant-cycle and milk-truck schedules, not SaaS calendars.

Which UP dairies already run on Sort String's dairy software?

Paras Dairy and Pawanshree Agro Foods are two of the most-deployed clients. NDDB Dairy Services uses the HRMS module. Across India and Nepal we operate 25 dairy cooperatives covering 83,785 farmer accounts and 1,797 village-level collection centres. Case studies for Paras and Pawanshree are public at sortstring.com/case-studies.

Does it cover the whole milk chain — procurement to billing?

Yes. Milk procurement at the village level centre (VLC) and milk collection centre (MCC) with Fat/SNF testing-machine integration, route dispatch with GPS, plant intake reconciliation, packaging schemes for the milk-subscription D2C side, GST e-invoicing for the trade channel, and accounting sync with Tally Prime or SAP B1. The full chain runs on one customer record.

Can dairy farmers use the software in Hindi?

Farmer-facing screens — the VLC operator app, the milk-collection slip, the SMS notifications for daily collection and weekly payment — are all bilingual. Configurable to Hindi, English, or both side-by-side. Plant-side admin screens remain in English by default.

What's the typical deployment timeline for a North-India dairy?

Four to eight weeks for a single-organisation rollout: one to two weeks of operations mapping at your plant + MCCs, two to four weeks of configuration and integration (Tally / SAP / your existing Fat/SNF testing machines), one week of pilot at a representative MCC, then phased rollout across the rest of the collection network. Every project ships with a named delivery owner in Lucknow.

How is it priced for a mid-sized UP dairy?

A one-time deployment fee plus a fixed monthly AMC. Pricing is per-organisation, not per-farmer or per-MCC, so adding 5,000 more farmers next season does not change your bill. Indicative range: ₹3–10 Lakh deployment + ₹50K–₹1.5 Lakh monthly AMC depending on module scope. Bundle pricing available when ProcuPort + AccountBook + CRM are deployed together.
